🌍 CAMS Participation at the “Climate Neutral Blue Cities by 2030” Conference in Limassol

The CAMS National Collaboration Programme (CAMS NCP) actively participated in the international conference “Climate Neutral Blue Cities by 2030: Accelerating Local Change under the EU Cities and Ocean Missions – Limassol’s Pathway to Climate Neutrality”, hosted by the Municipality of Limassol under the auspices of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2026.

Bringing together leading representatives from the European Commission, national authorities, municipalities, research institutions, industry, and civil society, the conference served as a high-level platform to advance dialogue and collaboration on the green and blue transition of port and coastal cities.

🔬 CAMS Contribution

Within this context, CAMS NCP showcased its role in supporting evidence-based decision-making for air quality and climate action in Cyprus. The project highlighted how CAMS products and services can be effectively integrated into national and local workflows to:

  • Υποστήριξη air quality monitoring and forecasting, including dust intrusion events and pollution episodes

  • Enhance data-driven policy development aligned with EU air quality directives

  • Provide high-resolution environmental insights through the combination of CAMS data with national observations

  • Strengthen operational services for public authorities and stakeholders

Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of downscaled air quality data and the integration of CAMS datasets with in-situ measurements and satellite observations, enabling more accurate and locally relevant environmental assessments.

CAMS NCP participation directly aligns with key conference themes, including:
