Eratosthenes at Seventh Joint Training Course on Atmospheric Composition

🌍 Advancing Atmospheric Research in Europe! ☁️
Georgia Charalampous and Orestis Livadiotis participated in the Seventh Joint Training Course on Atmospheric Composition, organised by EUMETSAT , ESA – European Space Agency and Copernicus ECMWF in collaboration with the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS).
📅 13–17 October 2025
📍 Royal Belgian Institute for Space Aeronomy (BIRA-IASB), Brussels
The course focused on Advanced Atmospheric Composition Products and Applications, with a particular emphasis on aerosols. Their participation aligned closely with their work at the Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence under the @EXCELSIO project and the CAMS National Collaboration Programme (NCP).
During the course, they presented their ongoing research integrating satellite observations (GOME-2/MetOp, TROPOMI/S5P, and IASI/MetOp) with ground-based LIDAR and Solar measurements from our station the Cyprus Atmospheric Remote Sensing Observatory (CARO) in Limassol, combined with CAMS global and regional model data.
